About
I’m Richard Guinness, a data & AI engineer with an entrepreneurial background. I build web apps, data pipelines and AI agents, and I work directly with the people who’ll rely on them.
I take a security-first approach: agents are sandboxed, credentials are brokered, and every integration gets the least access it needs.
Background
- 2002: Studied Computer Science at the University of the West of England.
- 2004: Guinness IT. IT consultancy for small businesses and start-ups.
- 2008: Aftertouch. Co-founded a residential systems integration business and grew it organically for fourteen years, managing clients, contractors and budgets.
- 2022: Le Wagon data science bootcamp, capping several years of self-directed study.
- 2023: Netzerosuperhero. Consultant data analyst on a business viability study: geospatial analysis of 40 GB of CSV data, joining open government data to property boundaries to map market viability.
- 2023: Datasparq. Consultant data engineer on Azure, GCP and Databricks: LLM/RAG systems, data pipelines and LLM evaluation frameworks.
- 2025: guinness.dev. Independent data & AI engineering for small businesses.
Credentials
- UK SC security clearance
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
I’m particularly interested in where security engineering meets AI: agent sandboxes, credential brokering and evaluating what models actually do.

The base map is a love letter to the real-time strategy games of the early ’90s. All of its pixel art is original.
